The Youth Fit 4 Life program is available at participating YMCA afterschool locations* and works to improve the health of young children by promoting an appreciation for a healthy, physically active lifestyle into adulthood.
Children participate in the program four times per week for 45 minutes in
each session. Each session includes high energy physical activities (to increase heart rate) and a short
educational component where children learn about healthy eating and setting goals.
Youth Fit 4 Life is available on-site at the child's YMCA afterschool location and provides a variety of fun activities to help build strength, endurance (cardiovascular fitness), and flexibility. In addition, a series of self-management skills-building exercises are used to reinforce healthy behaviors over time.
